    Wildlife and Chimpanzee Trekking Itinerary:

    Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport – Kampala

    Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then take you to Serena Kampala Hotel (high-end) or Cassia Lodge (mid-range), or Forest Cottages (budget facility) for an overnight stay and dinner. Meal plan: dinner

    Day 2: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth – Part of Wildlife and Chimpanzee Trekking

    Our driver-guide picks you up from Kampala at your hotel or place of residence by 7:30 am after your early morning breakfast, and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will make your first stopover at the Equator crossing for photography and then continue with the visit to the Igongo Cultural Center in Biharwe, Mbarara, to learn and see the evolution of the Ankole culture.

    After lunch at Agip Motel Mbarara, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth as you enjoy beautiful scenery, herds of long-horned Ankole cattle, tea plantations in Ishaka, rift valley escarpment, open grassland, and woodland savanna. You will then get on an evening game drive for sightseeing, which is much more rewarding en route as you drive to your lodge.

    Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge (luxury lodge facility) or Enganzi Lodge (mid-range lodge) or Ihamba Safari Lodge Bandas (budget facility). Meal Plan: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    Day 3: Wildlife in Queen Elizabeth Park

    With the previous day’s memories, enjoy your breakfast as you get ready for a guided primates’ walk along Kyambura Gorge, to look for habituated chimpanzees through the gorge. After the primates’ walk and lunch, you will get on a two-hour boat trip along the famous Kazinga channel, which is a worthwhile opportunity to see hippos, buffaloes, kobs, elephants, and warthogs among others. This trip also enables visitors a chance to see spectacular bird species.

    Day 4: Queen Elizabeth Park – Kibale National Park

    Begin your day with a cup of coffee, and then an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queen’s Mile, which makes visitors encounter elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, kobs, and a variety of bird species. Thereafter, you will proceed to Kibale Forest National Park just below the Rwenzori mountains, for an afternoon guided nature walk around the crater lakes area and an outstanding cultural visit.

    Meals and overnight stay at Kyaninga Lodge (luxury lodge facility) or Mountains of the Moon (mid-range lodge) or Chimpanzee Guest House (budget facility). Meal plan: B, L & D

    Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale

    In the morning, you will have breakfast and then be transferred to Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing before setting off for a forest walk in search of chimpanzees. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on other animal species, which makes it interesting. The walk will reward you with other primates like grey-cheeked mangabeys, colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’hoest’s monkeys, and butterflies.

    After tracking the chimps, you will go for another nature walk to the Bigodi swamp, to see unique flora and fauna, in the afternoon.

    Day 6: Kibale Forest – Kampala/Entebbe Out

    Return to Kampala, then Entebbe, with lunch en route before your evening departure back home or to your next destination. Meal plan: B & L.
