    Accommodation at Bush Lodge:

The lodge consists of a number of spacious tented rooms with en suite bush shower and veranda (mid-range), or lazy camping – a pre-erected tent with bed, linen, and table lamp (budget).

The lodge currently consists of six self-contained units which are spaciously placed between the indigenous bush. The rooms are made from a fine combination of canvas and local materials and are built to ensure the best views of the seasonal Kamera River. Each room features its own private en-suite bathroom with an eco toilet and an outside shower where two shower heads allow couples to take their starlit shower together.

The camp offers three different accommodation types which include the banda, non-self-contained tents as well as self-contained tents.

    Room Types

    • Banda
    • Non-self-contained Tents
    • Self-contained Tents.
    • Non-self-contained Tents

The non-self-contained tents provide a budget-friendly accommodation option for guests. These African-style tents are equipped with comfortable beds, a bedside table, and a power outlet to charge electrical equipment. The tents are set under a thatched roof which creates a private terrace and offers shade.  Visitors staying in these tents share a communal ablution block that offers flushing toilets and showers.  Bedding, linen as well as towels are provided.

    Self-Contained Tents

Guests who prefer some privacy and a real bush experience may stay in one of the two self-contained tents which are located a short distance away from the lodge. These tents are suitable for families traveling with children as an extra tent can be placed on the next platform. This type of accommodation is recommended for adventurous travelers, but walking to and from the main camp is not recommended during the night.

    Bandas

The 12 self-contained bandas are spaciously spread out between the indigenous Bush Lodge. These rooms have been constructed on a raised wooden platform and consist of canvas and local materials.  Giant mosquito-netted windows provide a lovely view and ensure guests a close nature experience. The bandas feature private terraces which overlook the seasonal Kamera river. An eco-friendly toilet as well as an outside shower, where two shower heads allow couples to take their starlit shower together, are also featured.

    Dining at The Bush Lodge:

Based on the camp’s small impact safari concept, a large dining tent is used as the restaurant. This dining tent has been set up to overlook the Kazinga channel from where the Rwenzori mountain ranges can be admired as a backdrop. While enjoying the camp’s excellent cuisine, this natural setting makes for a memorable dining experience.

Weather permitting, guests have the opportunity to dine under the bright, African starlit sky. The paraffin fires, as well as the campfire, provide a fantastic atmosphere for a delicious four-course dinner. Set menus are offered, and special requests and dietary requirements can be met if these are communicated to the lodge in advance. Depending on the day’s planned activities, early wake-up calls with fresh coffee and tea, packed breakfasts and lunches can be arranged.
