    Accommodation at Elephant Plains Lodge

Visitors’ accommodation is in six spacious double/twin en-suite cottages with large private verandas and huge glass windows giving you fantastic incredible views of the wilderness. Two-family cottages offer accommodation in two separate en-suite bedrooms with plenty of space for up to 5 people. All the cottages at Elephant Plains Lodge have large bathtubs and overlook Lake Kikorongo and the community.

Elephant Plains Lodge cottages are thatched using local brown savannah grass. This not only blends into the surroundings but also absorbs the heat and acts as a cooling system needed so close to the equator. The black granite stones used on the walkways are from the Mukubu River which flows from the Rwenzori mountains.

The main area provides an extensive lounge with comfortable couches and intimate seating areas. As a result, you can enjoy a Ugandan gin and tonic and take in the wonderful views under the cooling breeze rolling in off Lake George.

The famous Kasenyi plains offer open savannah filled with various wild animals, which give a fantastic platform for game viewing and birdwatching. For wildlife photographers, this is the best spot because it attracts lions and other big cats to the area. The southern part of Queen Elizabeth is the Ishasha section – famous for the tree-climbing lions.
